Hello Everyone,
I have received an Apple ][ Plus. When I turn it on, it only shows "APPLE ][" on the screen. No blinking cursor. Is this a problem? Typing doesn't appear to do anything. I don't have any software disks to try and boot using. Also, if there is any place that you can direct me to that would have documentation that I can use to understand how to use this computer would be wonderful.

Is there a floppy drive connected? If so does it recalibrate (chunking noise) and then just spin with the in use light on? If so that is normal.
If there is no floppy drive attached, is there a Disk ][ Conroller Card installed in a slot (usualy 6)? If so, remove it (with power OFF!) and try again. Do you get the Applesoft BASIC prompt ] and a flashing cursor?
What happens if you press CTRL-RESET?
Normally that should get you the prompt and flashing cursor. If it does not, then you probably have some other problem, It could be any one of a number of things. Bad RAM is a common problem, or one of the TTL logic chips.
Anyway, we can get into further troubleshooting once you've answered those beginning questions.

Removing the Disk ][ Controller Card did the job.
I will be going through the documentation that you linked to as well. I found that the 'D' key isn't working. So, I will have to figure out how to repair it.
