sorry if this should be in the ipod forum.
I am trying to take the dock connector to fire wire cable, chop off the fire wire connecto, and take the power lines, and wire my own battery pack. (if you use 2 AA's and two 9 volts, it matches the voltage). I just need to know, which wires are the ones i need for power when i chop off the fire wire connector. Thanks!!

so heres what i got,
ive got 6 seperate wires (which explains the 6 pins of the firewire cable)i black wire, i silver wire
then, in one group of 2
1 thin green
1 think tan
then in anotheranother little group
1 think blue
1 thin tan
so thats the 6 wires, heres a shot of that i got.

i wuold make one of those, but im not very handy with a soldering iron, and i have already chopped my wires. does anyone know what each of the 6 wires are for? which 2 are power?
