Just a note to people who need to program EEPROM, EPRON, GAL, etc. The Open Source 'minipro' utility which previously only supported the TL866A/CS or TL966-II now has support for the newer T48 programmers which are currently available (and inexpensive, usually well under $100).
I was able to download and build the source code from here:

I was able to verify that it now recognizes a T48.
