Hello all! Been a while since I last talked on this forum. I got a hardware question here.I have an Apple VOC and I want to see if I can get it working on a slot other than slot 3. I have already grabbed the M2B0 line and routed it to a few other slots so it can display video. However VideoMix is NOT detecting the card. Now instead of rewriting the tool which I dont even know if it is possible, would there be a way of making slot 6 slot 3. I'm sure it can be done, but I want to make sure it is as simple as I think it is.
As of right now I'm pretty sure all I need to do is cut #3 & #6 /IOSEL lines and connect 3 to 6 and 6 to 3. Im pretty sure that is it, just want to make certain before I go through with it.

You'd probably have to swap the /DEVSEL signals as well.
If you don't want to mutilate the motherbaord, you could also do this at the decoder sockets if it's on an Apple II/II+.
Ah I did miss that line. The reason I need to do this is because I have an apple sqeezer and it blocks slot 3 from having a long card installed, so it sorta nesseitates moving some cards around and being tricky. So that should be all I need to do right? (oh and happy 666th post :P )
Edit: Oh, forgot to mention this is on a IIGS. Totally slipped my mind.
OK. On a GS then. This should probably work as I don't think the VOC does any on-board address decoding which would defeat this approach...
The VOC uses the M2B0 signal in pin 35 in slot 3
That is correct, however it seems like the tool ONLY looks at slot 3 and refuses to see the card in any other slot regardless if I grab the M2B0 signal from slot 3 and put it to the card in a different slot.
In any case, I got it working by making slot 6 effectively slot 3. If I didnt do that I wouldn't be able to control it. Thanks for confirming what I had to change. Heres some pictures of the changes, all reverseable. Just 4 cuts and tracing to the vias for jumpers.
